Great idea. It's nice to know there are so many of us out there!! I am 3rd generation and I reside in Rochester, NY. My Grandfather Joseph and Grandmother Concetta immigrated to the Batavia, NY around 1910 from Palermo and Caltanissetta respectively. My parents, Michael A. and Pauline LaRussa Fricano reside in Batavia and two of their four boys are in the Buffalo, NY area; the other two reside in Rochester, NY.

I am a musician on the weekends so maybe I can contribute some music to the website if anyone is interested.

I look forward to corresponding with fellow Fricanos!!

We're from the Syracuse, New York branch of the Fricano family and currently the only ones listed in Nevada. (We are Jim, Martha, Katie and Jim II) My grandpa's one of seven children - Jacob, Frank, Rosario, Alphonso, Anthony, Charles and a sister Augustina. Papa is the oldest at 75. Their parent's names were Albert and Anna (Lombardi) Fricano. (Not sure when they arrived from Italy.) Uncle Charlie took a trip to Sicily a few years ago and met up with a great number of Fricanos. The extended family in Syracuse meets the third Sunday in July at Onondaga Lake Park in Syracuse - lots of cool Fricanos and great food!

If you check out the Fricano's pizza website, mentioned in some of the messages below, they will gladly ship you out some delicious pizza. It's so good, that I have it sent out here to California once in awhile to show the "natives" here that it's absurd to put pineapple and BBQ chicken on pizza! Hello to all my relatives!!

http://www.iserv.net/~fricanos/history.htm is the web site for the Pizza
Fricano's. Good history there. The Fricano named "Uncle Curly" was my grandfather who
lended the initial money to my cousin "Gus", whose real name was also Cosimo. Check it out.

I do not have an E-mail address or a computer of my own but I just wanted to inform you about a famous pizza tavern in Grand Haven,Mi. The name of it is Fricano'Pizza. It has been in business for almost 50 years and is the best pizza around here.

Pretty interesting site. My Grandfather came to Chicago around 1912 and went
to Grand Haven MI. He helped to bring over three more brothers while his sisters and other brothers stayed
in Sicily. I am named for him and now live in Salem, New Hampshire.

Another group of Fricano's to join the hunt to find family and answers. We are the

Fricano's from Canadaigua, NY(Near Rochester). Our roots trace back to Sicily also.
John Phillip Fricano was born on October 22nd 1912, in Bagheria. He was the oldest
and only child of 10 to be born in Sicily. The family came in through Ellis Island
and settled down with many other relatives in Buffalo, NY. Many relatives stayed behind
and we have no contact with them. I do not his parents name, but can find out. Throughout
Buffalo we have hundreds of relatives. We have a deep interest in finding out more about
distant relatives that might live throughout the U.S. and in Sicily. If any comments or information
is available, please send e-mail and let us rejoin after such a long time apart.
Thank You,
John E. Fricano

Carmelo Fricano looks like my grandfather who came from the same town in Sicily. I really enjoyed reading your family history. He settled in New Orleans and I was told that he had relatives who lived in Chicago.

Keep up the great work!

A PROUD Fricano

Hello everyone. My name is Gaetano Fricano and I am from Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. I think that this website is a great idea. Throughout my past internet searches I have found several Fricano matches that link to the United States and Italy, but not many that link to Canada. The Fricano family that I belong to has been in Hamilton since 1961. I am part of the second generation of this family. I have always wondered if there are other Fricano's in Canada. I look forward to reading this website on a regular basis.

Gaetano Fricano <gaetanofricano@yahoo.com>
